The logic of turning patriotic citizens into the enemy eludes me as well. And as for feeling safer, I think some other recent eruptions of flying road rage are as much the fault of these stupid "security measures" as they are to the fact that there is no working screening device to identify certified nut jobs. And of course as an elderly, toothless, arthritic grandfather, I especially enjoy being "randomly" selected for more intensive inspection-it's slmost flattering to be deemed a threat to public safety--I thought the only threat I was capable of mustering was an increasingly slow pace and gradually dimming eyesight because of advancing cataracts both of which conditions may, indeed, hinder my fellow passengers.
