Uplifting Poetry Break!
My husband wanted to revisit some of my finest work. Here is his favorite poem (I’ve probably written two, so it’s no high watermark) in its entirety. It is a haiku series. It is deep. Be prepared to be moved.
Moonlight in Memphis
bounces off fake waterfall
Tears shed for Elvis
I scratch my booty
Gazing at mourners in pixels
Wondering, “Why, Lord?”
Maybe I’m a fool
Elvis was a handsome lad
But not the end-all
Don’t you all feel culturally enriched now?

Hi Q., The whole thing is a hoot, not just the haiku. I don’t know about culturally enriched, but I do feel pretty light-hearted. Thanks, Pop
So do I!
Sarah
C’mon. That was like the beating heart of America it was so moving.
Cultural enrichment comes in many forms!
Love to you and all your chilluns! Milo misses you! Come back soon!
