Bought the little tyke his first books, even though they tell me he can’t read when he pops out (I just don’t understand that…). Mostly stuck with the classics: a little Dr. Suess, a little Maurice Sendak, but got a new book called “Diary of a Wombat.”

An excerpt:

Evening: Ate grass.

Night: Ate grass.
Slept.”

This book was particularly compelling because the wombat looks and acts suspiciously like our portly, stubby-tailed black cat.

I think he’ll recognize the resemblance immediately.
